91- misc

I dont have pics but i trashed some yard crap 9fertilizers, rusted pliers) and some stinky lotions (like 10 years old and spoiled or something) this week.  Also a couple of tank tops but then i bought 3 new tank tops so thats no good.  This post is lame so i will count it as one item.

90- George Formean Grill

This is a dumb appliance.  It was okay when i was single and on the run being busy busy.  slap a piece of chicken and some veggies and press.  Now i cook for 2 of us but Scott eats a LOT so i basically cook about 6 people's worth for leftover.  This tiny thing is worthless to me!

89 steak box

This box was part of a wedding gift.  I love the design and sara did a great job with it.  Fortunately or unfortunately, it was the perfect fit for this rattlesnake!  This is the gift I gave Phillip for his 18th birthday.  Hopefully he doesn't get suspended!

81-88 Bathroom cabinet stuff

Well, I was running late for work so why not trash a few things since I am already behind?  Anyway, that's what happened.
  • I decided to trash all this aloe vera.  Probably not smart since I will undoubtedly get scorched tomorrow or something just because I no longer have this.  Kroger is right around the corner so I will just buy more.
  • the tiny mouthwash is probably 2 years old and left over from a batch of tiny hotel products.
  •  Why the fuck do I have something called cat away?  And why is in in the bathroom? It looks realllly old.
  • Titralac.  Hmmm.  Gas medicine.  This also looks super old and like something my dad would have.
  • 1 screw
  • 13 eyedrop individual packs.  No one ever uses these.  They can buy more if they do.  I'm sure there are 14 more anyway.  This was just from the one shelf i investigated.
  • Expiration 2009.  I doubt we've used this tamiflu stuff since then.  We can buy more if we need to.  Besides, this was all stuck together inside.  GROSS!!!!
The good news is I am caught up to the end of march!  Woohoo!

Thin the closet!

72-80 socks and drawers

So lately I have been trying to devote 1 hour to the house each day:  dishes, laundry, floors, yard, etc.  Its actually starting to look nice and projects are actually getting done!  Last night I did dishes and then sat down to watch some TV with Scott.  So I pulled his sock bin out and matched up everything.  Yes, he has a giant storage bin of socks and underwear.  I got rid of everything in the photos.  He doesn't like the little briefs so we only kept the longer boxer briefs.  Anything with a hole was trashed.  lots of mismatches.  And by trashed I mean I use them to clean up things now.  I have the bag and I dusted and scrubbed with about 4 this morning.  I'll consider this 6 items even though it is a BUNCH of socks.

70-71 measuring spoons and kitchen clogs

Maybe 3 years ago Scott was working at Sun In My Belly doing catering.  I got him 2 pairs of these kitchen clogs and he likes them okay but like me, he has high arches and they were too tight along the top of his foot.  They will go to someone who can use them.  Just like the owl spoons.  They too will go to someone who better appreciates them.  They are completely impractical as far as shape and size.  They are cute, but don't work well for my baking.

63-69 drawer cleaning

I opened the kitchen drawers and was horrified!  There's this weird saw dust shit in all the drawers.  Then I investigated and I realized the counter tops are slowly disintegrating.  They are the cheapest pressboard particle board crap and apparently every time a drop of water gets past the laminate top they get a little worse.  Oh well, they'll last a while longer.  So I emptied the drawers and only kept the good stuff.  Trashed items:
  • wet naps
  • boxtops for education
  • batteries
  • keychain (and key which was separate)
  • buckle
  • tiny bottle of tobasco
  • rubber bands and twist ties
  • 342 ketchup and mustards
  • dirty napkins
I used to have a ziplock of the sauces but now i will repurpose my birchbox box for the suace drawer.  I also minimized the totals.  I could this as 6 items!

61-62 a cat clock and a onesie

This clock is super cute, it just doesnt match any rooms in my house.  I tried it in a few but it just stands out like "one of these things is not like the others".  My sister gave it to me for my birthday and it pains me to let it go but I found a friend that likes it for their kid's room.  So, there.  I would rather it be used than held on to for no reason except it was a gift.

The onesie was something i made and its ugly with the mutant little flower.  i pulled it from our craft bin so it will no longer make appearances at the craft fests.
These items bring me closer to current.  I'm at least in the March zone!  I have a few more pics from items i ditched this past weekend so I should be able to post all week and get caught up!  Not taht any of you care...But, woohoo!

58-59-60 stuff from drawers long forgotten

A mask!  This was given to me with some bachelorette/shower type items.  I have an unusually large head so it hurts.  Literally it squeezes my eyes shut.  This would come in handy if i ever listened to this CD.  I think it must have been Scott's but it is sealed and I have tried suggesting it go into his car.  It keeps moving around the downstairs so BE GONE!!!!!  Really, not to be judgy, but the band name leads me to believe it will either suck or not be my style AT ALL.
Lastly, sorry Susie, but I never use coasters.  I would rather these go to someone who loves them and will use them.  They are super cute and well made but they never made it out of the bundle and eventually ended up in a drawer and well...someone will use them damnit!

56-57 Scotts stuff

This Georgia sweatshirt is too small.  Scott got a new one for Christmas so I am making the decision to get rid of this one.  Sometimes I feel bad getting rid of his stuff, but then I remember that he won't ever get rid of it. The dress shirt is super metrosexual.  Its not Scott's style (he's NOT metrosexual, so much that he hardly showers).  It is super nice so it should go to someone who will appreciate it.

49-55 BOOKS!

Hahaha, quite the mix!  murder, mystery, and Judy Blume.  I have a closet shelf FULL of book from my dad.  I have begun tackling the piles so i can get rid of them and send them on their way.  I should have put them in a tiny free library but i just needed them out of my house.  I did give 2 to Wendy so at least there's that.

I'm still behind.  It is March 14 so i should be around 70-75 items.  I will get some this weekend.  Spring is in the air and i feel like cleaning!

45-48 some storage bins and a box of stuff.

This is funny because Eggroll looks GIANT.  I never used these 3 little storage bins so they go to the thrift store!  I also had this box of stuff.  It is probably a lot of stuff that was already listed but it has been sitting there forever and well, I actually brought it today!  I went to the salvation Army which pained me since they hate anyone gay, but it was convenient and i needed that shit out of here!  I didnt even look in the box to see what all was in there.  I probably just gave my coin collection to them but oh well.

44- Helens wedding dress

When i was engaged and wedding dress shopping, or at least thinking about it, a lot of "you can have my old dress" happened. This is awesome except that everyone wants to find that perfect dress.  I wasn' t too upitty about mine luckily.  Anyway, Helen brought me here which was awesome because we are similar in size.  It wasn't quite my style so i am putting it in the thrift store bin.  I don't need it for costume stuff right now and it will make someone happy.  Helen hand beaded it so I don't want to cut it up.

I am running behind on my posts but rest assured, i do have a box of stuff building!  Maybe i will make a run this week to unload the goods.

42-43 Spray paint

i have actually thinned the pile of spray paint by 4 i think, but i will count it as 2.  I used up 2 partial cans spray painting these letters spelling "happy birthday princess" for my friend john.  There is lots of glitter involved here too.

39-41 crafty stuffs

This modge podge is all dried up.  Boo, right?  I almost had a glue/adhesive emergency during the ice storm. I decided to make valentines during my 2 days of sloth and well, i almost had to walk to the store for glue.
Below is a little pin from Melissa's bachelorette.  no fancy wedding trinkets, just a classic little token to make us all a little matchy.  It was cute but realistically i will never use it again.
I also tossed 3 cans of spray paint that dont work anymore.  This brings my spray paint amounts to about 30 cans.  I'll get to work on that.

35-38 Books bras and hats

This is a cute white polar fleece hat from grandma.  She does not know that polar fleece is not allowed.  I ruin it, and if I don't it is hot and sweaty and icky.  If that isn't the case, the fabric acts like a magnet for dog fur.  Seriously gross.  Thrift store baby!
This bra has been with me FOREVER.  I finally let it go even though it is my last pink bra.  Its gross.  the elastic is destroyed.  I will make do with my brightly colored bras or wear black under my light colors  like a trashy foreign girl.  Lastly, below are 2 books that are a touch too dudely.  Dad gave me a big stack of books and I am trying to dig through them.  I actually like the Jack Reacher ones but less of the spies.  Plus i still have about 62 to go.

32-33-34 all things from the porches

Oh baby duckling.  What can I say?  Nothing really.  This baby duckling was an ebay venture into taxidermy collecting.  My house is too dusty for feather furry friends and this guy ended up on the porch amid the skulls and death I have as decor.  Well, Miyagi the dog LOVES taxidermy.  He slobbered and sucked on it and broke the little beak off.  I went ahead and buried him.  Not the dog, the duckling.  Oh, and not really.  I just threw him away.
These wind chimes were dumb.  Lame and virtually silent.  When i get windchimes i want the spooky death call of nightmares, not a gentle tinkle.  Also, this spider was cool once upon a time but now he's just clutter.  He went to the thrift store.

Everything that remains

http://www.amazon.com/Everything-That-Remains-Memoir-Minimalists/dp/1938793188

Ooh, i totally want to look at this book!  Not that i am planning on being a minimalist.  But I am thinning the piles and attempting to be less of a consumer.

28-29-30-31 basement crap

Gross!  Spiders!  This pile of rags was leftover from when i was fixing all the feral cats in the neighborhood.  I got about 12 done!  The last one was a disaster and ended up f*&^ing up my hand for a while with a cat bite.  I used these sheet remnants in and on the cages.  If you kept the cage fully covered they didn't bash their faces on the sides of the cage.  Below you see some trash from the back porch.  I mister, a couple of scaly gross candles...just clutter really.
Oh and yesterday i threw out a PILE of plastic bags i had hoarded for craft reasons.  It was a whole drawer of clear bags.  They dont photo well.

24-25-26-27 Pantry work

Wow, we have a lot of crap in the pantry.  Luckily we have had 2 snow events so we did manage to thin the piles a little bit.  On another adventurous day i decided to start work on the "eat all the food" game.  We got a new fridge so that was pretty tidy.  But the pantry....well, this soup was in there for about a year.  It was an impulse buy.  Trader Joes does that to me a lot.  I usually end up hating most of the crap i get there.  I think it is overpriced over packaged stuff.  This soup is a perfect example:  disGUSting.  I mean seriously.  I wanted it to taste like Figo's soup but instead it was sickeningly sweet.  I tried adding salt.  Then pepper.  Eventually i just threw it away because i would puke if I ate any more.  We also had a full drawer of sauce packets.  SO.MANY.  I threw almost all of them out.  Part of me wanted to squeeze all the ketchups into the ketchup bottle but i resisted.  Yes, i have a problem.
And oh look, sterno.  WTF?  We NEVER need sterno.  Ever.  I counted them as 2 just for charity.

23 day of the dead skull

I really like this but it doesn't really go with anything or any particular room.  I will gift it to someone else!  I feel bad because this is actually pretty cool and a recent gift.

19-20-21-22 tanks and tops and a frame

Well, these didn't photograph well but they are boring anyway.  black shirt thats too tight in the arms...tiny little tank tops that look dumb....more importantly is the frame below.  It was randomly gifted to Scott as a wedding gift.  It is clear glass and flowery.  It's pretty, and nice, just not our style.  Plus i still don't have any framed wedding photos.  It is too hard to decide what to frame and i don't want to be the crazy lady with 24 framed pics of herself.

17-18 Jammies and cushions

Once upon a time i made sock monkeys as gifts and as a little money maker when i got laid off right before Thanksgiving.  It was a lot of work but made me some cash until the unemployment really kicked in.  Luckily i got another job after the new year.  anyway, for some reason, everyone automatically started buying me sock monkey shit.  one item was cute.  Then there was another and another and another...finally i told everyone, "I don't really care about them, i just made them for money".  Harsh, but it got the point across. so these jammies are now in the thrift store bin.

Below are 2 really gross cushions.  Really icky.  The whole couch is icky.  I hate it!  I can hide it under sheets and stuff but i may freak out soon if we dont get a new one.  Anyway, i threw these in the trash.  We now have a couch with only 2 back cushions.  Ridiculous.

14 15 16- slip and slide and 2 hoodies

Ah, to be youthful again.  The last thing my body needs these days is to be flung onto the hard ground and some wet plastic.  No.Thank.You.  sorry hillery, but it went to a good home.

Also, my favorite black hoodie...it is time for us to part.  This thing is like 8 years old.  I should look through some photo albums to see when it first appeared but it isn't really worth it.  The red one is more of a junior cut.  I am not allowed to wear junior clothes anymore.  Oliva sets the laws in that regards.  Well, she WILL let me try them on so she can laugh at me, but that's it.

13-lil kim bra

One year in like 2003 i was Lil Kim.  I looked good.  It was right after she had her boob out at the VMAs.  Well, I used this bra and sewed a pastie to it.  I also had an amazing dress from the thrift store and a fur coat.  My necklace was mat board and gold spray paint.  It was awesome.  I also learned all the lyrics to her songs.  Well, not all, but enough.  anyway, this bra has seen better days and needs to be retired.  It never fit right anyway.

12- table from 2005?

I got this table at a yard sale.  I am really into tables.  I have no idea.  i also really like boxes and drawers.  and change.  Anyway, I got this for 10 bucks.  My intent was to refinish it and put a  lamp through it somehow.  Well, many many years later and it is in the same spot in the basement, rotting, being sad.  So it went to the curb and was picked up in no time!

11-crack cream

Good lord this must be like 10 years old.  I opened it and it is stinky.  Not rotten stinky, but nothing Iwant to rub on my skin.

7-10 jacket and shirts

Ah puffy jacket.  you were good to me but you are just too short.  I gave all of these items to a coworker to bring to the consignment store.  She may as well make 10 bucks, right? and man, i loved all these button downs.  But they have been with me for years and years and someone else can enjoy there.  they are a touch too tight and the gathered arm is a stupid invention.
