Nov 30- closet cleaning find- curtain!

Look how gross this curtain is!  When it rains hard and the window is open then the curtain would sometimes end up outside of the window.  You know, no screens, living in mideval times...Anyway, I was cleaning out the grody upstairs closet and I found a single curtain.  So now it looks almost classy again.  Almost.
And while I am bragging, check out my closet!  Yes there is a bag of costumes on the floor but I plan to get a plastic storage bin for that.  The important thing is that you can see the floor!

Nov 29- a really bad book

This has been in my house for years.  I have been meaning to send it to Kathleen for at least 5 years.  I think it came from a thrift store?  Anyway, it is funny because #1 it is poems by Jack Palance.  THE Jack Palance.  #2, there is a band that Kathleen knows called The Jack Palance Band.  so there you go.  I paid 3 bucks to mail this thing away.

Nov 28- hot pink toilet paper

Seriously, i have all this crap in my house!  So this is some toilet paper i got from Fab.com a long time ago.  They send too many emails so i broke up with them.  Anyway, I got all these credits for people signing up and i bought this for Olivia's birthday.  "bought".  It was mostly free.  Anyway, that was last October (like 2011) and I FINALLY got it in the mail.  Of course, I added her new borthday items and also of course she now lives in the UK where it is very expensive to send packages.

Nov 27- a bug magnet

So a long time ago i made all these bug magnets.  They were really cool but no one wanted to buy them.  So now I am putting them out in the world.  This one is on a windowsill high up at the ambient Studios space where they held the Indie Craft Experience.

Nov 25-26 A shirt and some tissue

So the top item is a shirt.  It was a nice shirt, simple structure, but time has caused it to shrink and me to grow so i have sent it to the thrift store box.  Below is a bunch of tissue paper.  I was at the Indie Craft Experience and my friend needed some tissue paper.  Luckily my mom gives me all sorts of stuff like bags and packing materials so I had a plentiful supply to give her.

Nov 24- faucets!

Okay, this is the current faucet but it looks just like the old one.  I had a busted faucet and we couldn't get water.  So the boss-man came out and took it all apart.  It seems that all the rust in my pipes had caused it to become permanently disabled.  So we hooked up a new one.  I was supposed to return the old one but I felt dishonest since it was not a real product defect.  Well, it sort of was because we couldn't get the old one unclogged.  Instead I got all new copper plumbing and a new hot water heater.  Don;t rob me, it really isn't that much.

Nov 23 paint pants

I did not get rid of Turkey or my foot, just the pants.  Turkey is the dog by the way.  So probably in about 2007 or so i worked for a different company.  one day they had us help stain shelves for the fancy new library.  Well, a shelf fell and exploded all over my pants and they gave me money to buy a new pair.  They were just Gap capri pants but i loved them so i got the same thing.  This is them today.  I dont know why i still have them because they don't fit AND I have snazzy coveralls that are my paint outfit/work on the house uniform.  To get rid of these I actually put them in the trash and then poured the bacon grease onto them.  You know, instead of pouring it down the drain to cause disasters in the future.

Nov 22, glasses

These must be 6 years old.  Maybe more.  I keep getting glasses and I keep not wearing them.  So I put these in the thrift store box.  I also kept meaning to bring them to one of those places that gets glasses and gives them to needy people...but well, I think we know I will never get around to it.

Nov 21 Day of the dead bag

I went to brunch and a yard sale the other day.  It was right when i was thinking about cleaning out my upstairs closet.  I saw this and immediately thought of Jen.  So I gifted it to her because a) I never use it and b) it has the wrong strap/handle type for me.  So, after like 4 years of it sitting there, i let it go.

Nov 16-20 Mom's dishes

So Mom would probably hate that I let these go but I had about 8 pieces total.  4 plates 3 tiny plates and a bowl.  They were all super crackled and most had a chip or 2.  I brought them to the antiquey china spot in Avondale Estates.  They said "These aren't going to sell in this condition" so I asked if they knew anyone who smashed dishes and made mosaics or jewelry or anything.  Yes, yes they did so that is hopefully where they went to live.  I'm giving myself credit for 5 items even though i gave them more.  It kind of felt like cheating though.

Nov 15 coasters

So recently I decided to work on the craft room and finish a bunch of half done projects.  I finished these coasters that had been sitting there for about 3 years.  Then i gave them to one of my bosses because it makes her happy!

Nov 13 and 14 socks

So i wore the socks to work out the other day.  The pink ones...anyway, they kept sliding into my shoes.  Unacceptable.  I got to work and took them off and threw those jerks in the trash!  Also, the other day i brought silly Christmas socks to wear and couldn't even get them on my massive feet.  I gave them to a co-worker since they were brand new.  I think my sock drawer needs a major overhaul anyway.

Nov 7-12, clothes and a camera and a bag o tapes

A pair of jeans, a headband belt thing and a shirt.  also a bag of VHS tape and a polaroid.  These all go to live at the thrift store.  They've been traveling around in my car with me but I promise they will go away eventually. Seriously, i couldnt go to the grocery store right now if I had to.  Maybe after work...

Nov 6- shoes

I have one of those shoe organizer things on the back of the door.  This pair has been in the bottom right corner for about 3 years.  They never move.  They never do anything except hang there, taking space.  So they have gone to a new home (I hope) and that is the goodwill box that will go to the thrift store one day when i have time.  The boxes are getting pretty full!

Nov 1-5 BAGS!

I loved you little silver purse.  But you know, it's time.  Time to let go.  You are old and worn out, which is not to say that i don't still love you, i just, well...its not you, it's me.
Goodbye random bag of white men's undershirts.  You need to go live where you will be appreciated. I dont know why you are here in the first place either.
Goodbye awesome bags i was never able to let go of.  You all served a great purpose but it is time to go.  Green bag, you got me through Amsterdam and the UK.  I remember I took off the Tommy Hilfiger tag so no one would know i was american and not Euro-Lori.  Unicorn bag, i loved you.  but your lack of interior or exterior pockets made me hate you.  Tiny star bag, we had some good times.  you were perfect for galavanting.  But i have outgrown you all.

Goodbye.

Oct 31 Damien

Theres a little naked boy mannequin in the bushes.  Scott's friend wants to adopt him so I used him for decor as one last hoorah.  It is nov 9 and he is still there in the bushes being creepy.  BUT, he is not in the house or basement nor is he allowed back in.  It is up to Scott o actually move him.

Maybe I'll hide him in Bobo's van.

Update- He went to Savage Pizza to hide in the walk-in.  heh heh.  His adoptive parent will pick him up!

BEADS! 2 bins through oct 30

You all know i have been purging the attic.  Well, i had these bins of beads.  I probably should have kept them but really we know i shouldn't.  I brought them up to homegrown for some of the artists to use.  I think the last time i made anything with beads was in about 1996.  There was a store called beads by shoshana or something.  What a long time ago.

Oct 28 candle

While I am planning a wedding I had the mental anguish over wedding favors.  We all get this stuff at weddings and really a lot of it is wasted or unnecessary.  I got hung up on it for a second trying to decide what to do without breaking the bank or making trash.  No one really needs a candle, or a shot glass or another coozie.  I was going to do lip balms from a favoriter crafter Mama Bath and Body here in Decatur.  I thought about match books with cute design.  magnets, pencils with funny sayings, etc.  Well, its mostly not needed and my friend pointed out that if anyone is going to get mad that they did not recieve a dollar trinket, do i really care if they are at my wedding?  I can put the money towards food and drink.  I can keep the budget within reason.  I can apply it to the honeymoon if i want.  Either way we won't end up with a bucket of pencils at the end of the night and a ton of matches.

This candle came from a wedding.  I have no idea who's.  It has been in the drawer for years.  So i lit it and burned it down and got rid of it.  Thanks whoever gave me that!

Oct 26-27

I should get a boatload of credit because this is a whole bin of crap!  It was in the attic waiting for a yardsale to happen one day.  Well, no yardsale but it can go live at the thrift store until it is properly adopted.  See the cute dog pic on top?  Thats my old girl Lanie.  she was rad.  i got that frame at the thrift store and never really made the pic look good inside.  i never even took the tag off.  There is a cool hot topid purse from years ago, some scarves, glasses, stupid stuff...eh, i dont want it.  Oh, and a pair of jeans.  They are size 16 which is way too generous for me these days.

Through Oct 25- clothes and some placemats!

Part of me wants to hang on to these but they are cheap enough i can buy them again if i even need them for a craft.  4 placemats in a boring neutral shade.  blech.
I had a whole stack of these.  one year for Christmas i gave everyone shirts proclaiming how i made people feel.  Yes, i am awesome.
This was a freebie so it shouldn;t count but the multiples in all the other submissions negate this idea.  it is a strapless white sundress.  why would anyone wear such a thing except to get married?  i thought about dying it but again, why bother because it is strapless.
A stack of scotts shirts.  they are all freebies we've gotten over the years and his shirt stack needed thinning.
